Quinta da Fonte Souto 2018 Vinha do Souto - Red

Vinha do Souto is a wine produced from grapes from the selective harvest of plots in which very particular and special conditions are recognised. These are some specific areas of Alicante Bouchet and Syrah, in which the reduced vigour of the vineyard and low production, allow grapes and wines to be produced which, while maintaining the naturally fresh profile of the mountains, have an absolutely remarkable concentration and complexity.

Quinta da Fonte Souto is our family’s first property outside of the Douro. Located in the Portalegre subregion of the Alto Alentejo in southern Portugal, Fonte Souto has 207 hectares in total, of which 43 are planted with vines. Well-sited near the São Mamede range (1,025 metres), the property benefits from the area’s altitude and cooler microclimate.
